The Lactate Scout + is discontinued

The Lactate Scout lactate analyzer is a small electronic device measuring 9.1 x 5.5 x 2.3 cm and weighing 85 grams, including batteries (2 LR03 batteries). It uses test strips for the analysis of lactic acid and an enzyme-amperometric Biosensor as measuring element.

The measurement range varies from 0.5 to 25.0 mmol/l and it only requires 0.5 microliters as blood volume for its analytical process. Different comparative studies have been carried out, with correlations above 0.95 at the most common levels of lactic acid analysis (figures below 15 mmol / l), thus the reliability of the results is guaranteed

Among the advantages in relation to other similar products of lactic acid analysis, it should be noted:

• The analyzer only needs 0.5 microlitres of blood for lactate analysis. This is a very important factor as when performing a high intensity, a redistribution of the cardiac output takes place (blood pumped by the heart) favoring the distribution of the maximum amount of blood to the active muscle territory at the expense of decreasing blood flow in other body zones, as is the case of the earlobe, where the blood is usually taken for lactate analysis. Under these difficult conditions to obtain blood, the fact of needing only 0.5 microlitres is a very important advantage in comparison with the other methods of lactate analysis that use a much superior blood sample
  

• The time it takes to display the result is only 10 seconds, which elicits to simultaneously take control of more than one athlete
  
• The storage capacity is 250 results, storing the value of lactic acid together with the day and time the measurement was performed
  
• The possibility of connecting to a PC for the transmission of data via Bluetooth
  
• An internal timer can be programmed as a stopwatch or as a countdown to control the end of workloads
